2011 VTA Individual Competition
The annual Vision Taekwon-Do Association individual competition took place in Crowborough on Saturday 5th March.
The competition kicked off at 9am and due to some excellent organisation managed to finish as planned just after 4.30!
The morning's events were led by the adults and 13-17yr old patterns, sparring and special technique competitions (power test for the black belts) whilst the afternoon focussed on a very competitive under 13 year old category - all belts taking part in patterns, sparring and special techniques.
The day gave many Synergy TKD students the first taste of real competition - providing them with a real opportunity to test their skills against students from other clubs. Each event was run as a league system too - which meant that each student took part in mulitple rounds. This proved to be much better than a straight knockout system used at many larger competitions.
With around 30 Synergy TKD students taking part the club managed to bring in an excellent haul of medals, with Tonbridge and Hastings ending up with 12 gold, 10 silver and 17 bronzes.
